This sub-section is designed to provide useful information to both service providers working as employment counsellors and to newcomers to Canada looking for jobs.

Rather than duplicating the detail of sites such as workinfonet.ca, we have developed a sub-section that concentrates on top level issues facing newcomers to Canada.  This sub-section will continue to expand and grow in the future as new challenges, opportunities and resources appear.

The sub-section is broken up into five parts:

• Before Arriving deals with information and materials that are important for newcomers to have in order to most effectively look for work in Canada.
• Orientation looks at the first part of the process of becoming "job ready" in Canada.
• Preparation examines the second part of the process of becoming "job ready" in Canada.
• Presentation concentrates on the various forms of presentation of self of a person looking for work.
• Closing examines how you "close" an offer of employment and also how you prepare for the future.
