National Settlement Conference 2
(Calgary - October 2-5, 2003)
Working Groups
In December 2001, umbrella organizations submitted recommendations for
delegates to sit on the VSI working groups. They include national and
regional representation and a cross-section of rural and urban and management
and frontline staff. The groups' discussions and recommendations may include
policy and program considerations for implementation by both government
and the sector. For example, they may recommend new policies and programming
directions or ideas. Individual groups may also conduct specific research.
The groups concentrate on the following four areas:
- How to Maximize
Current Settlement Work
- Smaller
Community Strategy
- Settlement
Accord
- Settlement
Standards/Professionalization and Accountability
